Intermediate Track:

Smooth Sailing - Michael and Evita
Saturday 11:00am to 1:10pm

Almost everything we do comes from just a few core Lindy patterns, and everything else is just a variation on those. Learn to build a complete dance from the ground up so as to avoid rough seas ahead.

Ballroomin' Blues - Chris and Campbell
Saturday 2:50pm to 5:00pm

Ballroomin' Blues is all about a balance between smoothness and power. While we break down some of our favorite finesse-based moves, we'll work on making them look easy but strong, contained but explosive. Careful, you might get your legs tangled a few times on your way to Ballroomin' badass-ery!

Jamlee Juice - Julee and James
Sunday 3:30pm to 5:40pm

Welcome to Jam(James-and-Julee)lee Juice! Today's featured smoothie contains a special blend of flash-frozen blues-berries, lindy-hop sherbert, fresh-squeezed bluesy jazz, and a shot of jazzy blues. It may sound like a weird combination of flavors, but believe us, it's delicious and packed full of energy to keep you dancing. By the time you're done drinking it, you'll have improved control over your momentum and some great new ways to improvise.*

J&J Roasters: The House Blend - James and Julee
Saturday 11:00am to 1:10pm

The house blend is a perfect introduction to the selection offered by J&J Roasters, Chicago's premiere organic, fair-trade, artisan social dance and coffee studio. A mix of carefully selected movement styles, the house blend brings balance without sacrificing character and style. Our roasting team tailors this roast to bring out notes of quality technique and lindy hop rhythm, while lasting impressions of blues vocabulary and musicality linger even after the last sip.

Is Your (Lindy) Ballast Tank in Tact? - Michael and Evita
Saturday 3:00pm to 5:10pm

Michael & Evita show how to take the linear quality out of your dancing by making use of curves and arcs in your Lindy patterns. Further, they will incorporate spinning and turning movements and technique to ensure your ship's course is true!

Ballroomin' Blues - Chris and Campbell

Dance Mixology - Julee and James
Saturday 3:00pm to 5:10pm

Some people take their blues neat, some prefer it on the rocks, some want it dirty and shaken, not stirred. Personally, Julee and James prefer it with a generous shot of lindy rhythm. In this class, they'll share some tricks for mixing classy and tasty dance cocktails. As any bartender knows, it's all about using good ingredients, and so they'll be focusing heavily on connection, rhythm, and musicality to help make sure that your musical libations are really top-shelf.

Careen Thy Technique Lest Keelhauling Be In Order! - Michael and Evita
Sunday 3:20pm to 5:30pm

Coxswains can only offer challenging moves once the crew's technique be true, so Michael and Evita will make sure your fundamentals are sound to make a better dancer of you.
